Let’s go! The Anglesea riverbank offers tracks and boardwalks traversing through changing landscapes – perfect for relaxing or little adventures. Try throwing in a line from one of the fishing platforms or bridges to see what's biting!
Throw in a line and try your luck. Maybe you’ll land a BIG one! Stake out a spot on one of the many fishing platforms dotted along the Anglesea River. (* Adults must hold a fishing licence)
WALK THE WALK
Take the littlies for a stroll on a shorter section or challenge yourself to a longer distance – the Surf Coast Walk connects the Great Ocean Road coastal townships from Fairhaven through to Torquay.
Hire a motorised paddle boat to thrill the kids or paddle it out in a canoe with a friend.
TIP: If you want to take it easy sit in the back!
RIVERBANK MARKETS
Set in one of the most picturesque locations, this Sunday market is a sprawling treasure trove of eclectic stalls and stallholders.
Stand up paddle-boarding is equal parts fitness and fun. You can hire boards from a number of outlets in Anglesea. Be sure to slip, slop and slap before you SUP!
FAIRYLAND RESERVE
Fairyland Nature Reserve (on the east side of Anglesea River) is named for the twisted Moonah trees overshadowing its carpet of spongy green moss. An idyllic reserve, perfect for walking (and fairy tale quests) any time of year. The boardwalk section takes you from the bridge past the caravan park to the river mouth at the beach.
