Every day is time to play and it's always better when we're together!

Ask any surfer – nothing beats the freedom you feel when you first stand up on the board. Or seeing the grin on the face of a child who's just caught their first wave. The gentle waves on Main Beach are ideal for learners young (and not-so-young). Take a lesson or hire a board to get in on the action!

WATER BABIES

Play all day! At the beach. At the river. Taking a giggle-filled ride on the water  is easy as in Anglesea. We’ve got easy waves for  learning to surf and calmer Anglesea River waters for a gentle canoe or test your balance on a stand up paddleboard.  Paddle boats are available for hire -  race your family down the river!

Answer the call of the wild! Wander walking trails through the Anglesea wetlands to spot ducks and hear Pobblebonk frogs croaking their natural symphony! In spring (Sept-Nov) explore the Anglesea Heath abloom with wildflowers; stroll the easy 3km trail and maybe chance upon beautiful rare orchids.

UNLEASH THE ENERGY

Seeking more ways to burn up energy? Wear-them-out action and belly-laughs are never far away – we’ve got picnic ideas, tennis, bowls and more events than you can wave a paddle at!

Need more inpso?

Anglesea is ground zero for events the whole family can enjoy together. Our flagship is April’s KAOS – KIDS Adventure Outdoors, developed especially to lure kids away from screens and into the great outdoors.

BOATING

Thrill the littlies! Hire a motorised paddle boat or a canoe and get oarsome. Tip: if you want to take it easy sit in the back!

The Anglesea riverbank brims with tracks and boardwalks traversing through changing landscapes – perfect for relaxing or pocket-sized adventures. Try throwing in a line from one of the fishing platforms or a bridge to see what's biting!

WALK THE WALK

Take the littlies for a stroll on a shorter section or commit to a more challenging distance – the Surf Coast Walk connects the Great Ocean Road coastal townships from Fairhaven right through to Torquay.
