Between Main Beach and Point Roadknight you're spoilt for choice for safe, patrolled spots to take the littler water babies for a family day out. For rock pooling, dog running or beach walking, head to Soapy Rocks (pictured above) or Urquhart Bluff. Further along the Surf Coast, discover even more amazing beach spots: famous Bells Beach, Point Addis or, to the west, Fairhaven.

TOWERING CLIFFS

Let’s get out there and explore in the wild ocean air! Around 10km north-east of Anglesea, find Point Addis where rugged sandstone cliffs overlook a marine national park. It's a popular launch-pad for hang gliders. Clamber down the steps from the cliff top to the beach and a much-faved surfing spot.

Main Beach’s shallow waves are ideal for learn-to-surf fun. Imagine your whole gang tackling their first waves together in a safe setting, under pro guidance. Look for Main Beach car park near ‘Shark Park’ or simply stroll along the river and you’re there.

POINT ROADKNIGHT

Point Roadknight’s gorgeous sheltered bay beach is a fave spot for families with little ones. Popular for sailing and windsurfing, there’s always plenty to see plus a boat ramp, ample parking, public toilets and a café/kiosk serving up the good stuff in the busy season.

SOAPY ROCKS

Soapy Rocks is the back beach between the Anglesea Surf Club and Point Roadknight Beach. Known for its ultra-explorable outcrop of slippery rocks (hence the name Soapy) at either end of the 750m long beach.

Urqharts Bluff

A beautiful scenic beach with a popular surf break, picnic tables and grass area right on the beach – perfect for group selfies.

Bells Beach

Find legendary Bells Beach between Anglesea and Torquay. Snap a specky vista shot from the iconic clifftop as you watch skilled surfers doing their thing.

Point Addis

Grab action shots while rockpooling, gazing out from clifftop lookouts and exploring nature walks. The surf is pretty cool here too!

FAMILY FRIENDLY BEACHES

Discover safe spots for kids to take a dip and where easy waves make getting little ones on the boards a big can-do. Find rock pools, sandcastle settings and where the safety flags are flying.
